"Cookies" for mom

This is a special post for my mom. Wanted to make sure that there were some cookies in the jar when you checked today.

Here is Malia sporting the overalls you got her last Christmas and the cute outfit that she got from you this year. Everyone loves the pink gauchos.

Happy Thanksgiving. Love you!

Playing with new toys

We have been horrible about uploading our videos lately. We did it last night for the first time since August and had 44 videos. At least we are shooting them even if we aren't sharing.

Here is one we took the other night of Malia playing with her new lamb and foam letters (thanks mom, dad, Beth and Keith!)

St. Louis

Sickness tried to ruin our fun at the Jones family Thanksgiving/Christmas but she did not succeed. While 4 of the 7 of us were either getting over shingles, nauseous or vomiting at some point of the weekend, we still had a fun time together.

Unfortunately we had planned on doing some family photos on Sunday and that is when most of our crew ended up sick so photos did not happen. But here are a few from the weekend.

Malia's favorite part about "Christmas" was eating the tags and wrapping paper.

At the airport and at the science center, Malia really enjoyed pushing her stroller.

The family (minus mom) under the arch that we constructed at the science center.

Since it has been cooler here for the last couple of months, Malia has been wearing socks all day, everyday. But today and yesterday we have had a little heat wave here in Denver (temps in the 70s).

So yesterday while feeding her lunch, I had her socks off and was struck by how cute her feet are. I felt like I hadn't seen them in awhile and wanted to remember the moment (it may be several more months before I get to see them again) so I snapped this shot.

Another trip

Yesterday Andrew flew to Orlando for work. Tomorrow Malia and I fly to St. Louis to be with my family for an early Thankgiving and Andrew will join us there on Friday.

This will be my second solo flight with Malia. We don't take off until 7:30 p.m. so I am hoping she will just sleep. If she doesn't, it is only 2 hours long.

Here is a picture of Malia helping her daddy pack. I think she wanted to go with him - maybe to see her Florida friends?

The other night it was time to vacuum. Andrew kindly volunteered (really he has done the majority of vacuuming for the last few years) and I agreed he would be better at it because I am not used to maneuvering the canister vacuum that his parents have.

Malia is a huge fan of the canister vacuum because she can "help". I seriously think she would have been content vacuumed all night long just trailing behind Andrew pushing away.

More Chick-fil-A pictures

Part of the reason some of these pictures are a few weeks old is because our camera got mixed up with Alli and Chris' things at our Chick-fil-A campout so we were without it for awhile.

So here are a few more shots from our overnight adventure.

Our gear.

Chris (#2), Alli (#1) and Andrew (#4). I was #3, that is until Chris and Andrew had to leave to go work for awhile. But this is how we started the morning.

Malia came up for a visit and got to see the cow. I think it is funny that she is just staring at him in the picture.

Chris was born and raised in Lancaster, PA and is a huge Phillies fan. So when the potential final game of the World Series fell on our overnight, I thought he might back out. But he didn't. And thanks to some good old fashioned rabbit ears, he was able to watch the game in the parking lot.

So you sleep in a tent in a parking lot and there are kids up until 2 a.m. playing 4 square and then just before 6 a.m. you are summoned over the loud speaker to line up by number so you throw on your shoes, jump out of the tent and scramble to find the front of the line. There you are given an XL T-shirt which you just throw over all of your layers and a cool paper hat and within minutes you are marched through the store and given your coupons for free Chick-fil-A and told that you are allowed to leave the parking lot for the first time in 24 hours. Very funny experience.

The Briggs Visit

I am so behind on posting things so I am going to do a few to catch up.

Our friends Micah and Tracey from Orlando came out to Denver a few weeks ago and brought their son Deacon with them. We really enjoyed being able to reconnect with them. Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures but here are the few that I did. (Tracey we need to figure out a way that you can send me the ones that you guys took.)

The bottom of the pantry filled with water bottles provided great entertainment for the kids and allowed Tracey and I to get in some good conversation.

Sorry for the delay in Halloween pictures. I am not sure where the time has gone.

Malia really enjoyed the Halloween books that Grandma sent her.
And Andrew and I enjoyed the candy - thanks mom!

Malia enjoyed playing in the candy. She especially liked the milk duds because they made a noise when she shook them. Weird to think next year she will be eating the candy not just playing in it.

Malia the monkey.

Malia the monkey playing with one of her favorite toys - the diaper box.

Trying to get a picture of her with the pumpkin that Emmie carved to look like her - they both have 2 teeth on the bottom. As you can tell, she was not pleased.

Climbing the stairs

Over the last several weeks, Malia has gotten better and better at climbing the stairs. She used to give up after a few stairs but this morning she made it over half way before posing for a few pictures.

(For those of you who are concerned about her safety, I was spotting her this whole time and her Emmie took the pictures).
