Davey and Desmond

This happened on Christmas Eve but I thought it deserved its own post.

I have mentioned that my girls adore Desmond. We have gotten lots of time with him (and his precious parents) this month which has been a blast. Here is a series of Davey loving on Des.

He after he survived that round of loving, he was immediately hugged by Malia. Thanks for being so sweet Des.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Andrew's parents, Alli, Chris, Desmond and then some great friends Ali, June, John and Helen.

Chocolate Covered Marshmallows

The week before Christmas, we made chocolate covered marshmallows to give to our neighbors. I melted the chocolate, got things set up and then Andrew and Malia did the rest. They had a great time. At one point Andrew made a comment and I thought he said "this is more work than I thought it was going to be" but what he really said was "this is more fun than I thought it was going to be".

Christmas Card Rejects, Take 1

I toyed with the idea of sending out a Christmas picture this year... but then came the reality that sometimes it is just hard to get a "good" picture of a 3 and 1 year old. Instead of stressing (like I was), I just gave up and decided not to do it.

Here are some of the "rejected" pictures - truth is, they show more of my girls personality than a "good" photo of them smiling would (at least that is how I am comforting myself). This is photo session 1. More to come later.

Davey just wants to stand. Malia is not amused.

Malia probably telling Davey to sit down.

Both sitting. Neither smiling or looking at the camera. Malia has a snotty nose.

Getting closer. Davey is smiling. Come on Malia.

No Davey, you have to keep smiling because now Malia is.

Davey leaning forward to make a break for it...

... not so fast though. Malia is there to hug/capture Davey.

Hard to know if Malia is thinking, "I love you so much" or "Haha! I got you and I am not letting go".

And we are done.

The rest of Steamboat

Davey getting ready to go out in the cold.

Malia got a pink sleeping bag and this zebra tent for her birthday. She loved sleeping in them - she even zipped herself in the tent at night.

With Aunt Alli and Des... the girls loved on Des so much while we were there (some times maybe a bit too much).

A rare shot of Davey's top teeth. She actually has four up there now.

Malia and Daddy hanging out downtown Steamboat.

Chris and Desmond

We got to go on a sleigh ride.

Sweet girl.

Sweet boy (with a sour face!) He was such a good sport with all of our outdoor, cold activities.

With Mrs. and Santa Claus - Malia had her picture taken here 2 years ago when she was just about Davey's age... fun to look back.

Des, I would be mad too if a girl just came up and sat on Santa's lap when it was my turn.

Laying on the snow... hard to open your eyes when it is so bright out.

Talking to dad or trying to catch a snowflake?
