Temperature Shift

Last Friday it was gorgeous here - almost 70! Over Andrew's lunch break, we ran up to the park with the girls and then after we got home, the girls and I stayed outside for an additional hour or so. We had to soak up all of the nice weather while we could because today, just four days later, it is in the single digits and snowing.

Here are some pictures from the park.

A little boy let Malia drive his powerwheel jeep - steering is definitely still an issue for her!

Pop Beads

Malia got a set of Pop Beads for her birthday and they have been a big hit - with her and with me! I am pretty sure she was just singing along, playing with them when I took these pictures.

Books and Milk...

... are two of Davey's favorite things these days. She would drink (guzzle) milk all day long if she could. And over the last month or so she has become really into books - she likes flipping the pages by herself, being read to, pulling them all off of the shelf and occasionally tearing a page out.

Here's a series of her - she just finished drinking her milk and is onto reading books. I love the milk that is left dripping off of her chin!

Dancing is one of Malia's favorite things to do these days. She is usually Belle and she gives out Princess names to the rest of us too (at first she asked me if I could be the Beast, and I politely declined and requested a Princess name instead). Here she is with Andrew (a.k.a. the Prince - he declined the Beast name too) - I think they were swing dancing?

She is not all girly-girl though! Doh!

Snowy, Cold Days

We started getting snow on Sunday and it has been frigid here since (it will go above freezing today and be 50 on Saturday!)

Sled tracks into the backyard.

The snow was deep enough that the sled tipped over - this resulted in a face plant in the snow for Davey - poor thing.

Feeling a little better.

Protective Eye Wear

Davey found her sunglasses a few days ago and was sporting them (along with a very fashionable straw in her mouth). Not wanting to be left out of the eye-wear fun, Malia put on the protective goggles that I got after my Lasik surgery last month (I am still amazed that a 10 minute surgery could give me 20/20 vision after 20 years of glasses and contacts).

Pictures that were taken while giggling at my silly girls.

Desmond Playing Cards

Happy New Year. It has been a good one here - very productive and full of fun (and one minor stomach bug for me - yuck!) I have been really good at doing a lot of things so far this year but one thing I have been bad at is taking pictures.

I do have some pictures of Desmond to post from right after Christmas. One night while we were together, we tried to play cards after all the kids went to bed - but Des didn't want to sleep - he wanted to play with us - and so he did. He was a very content and a fun addition to our game of Shanghai.

He was very content for awhile in his swaddle, but then he busted out and that is when the smiles started coming.

Getting loving from his daddy.

Some things (like pacifiers) are just worth bending in half for.

The nursing mothers cardholder.

After Desmond really went to bed, we continued our party with Just Dance 2! So much fun and quite a workout.

Christmas Pictures

Better late than never.

I actually did not take many pictures opening presents... I guess I was enjoying myself too much. Here are a few from Christmas morning/afternoon.

Malia and her stocking.

We started opening stockings before Davey got up. Here Malia is leading her into the sea of open stocking stuffers.

Davey sporting her new vest and pink bracelets (from India).

Davey's big gift from her Emmie and Pops was a coupe car. Do you like our wrapping job?

For the record, the coupe car does not fit two children - but they sure tried to make it work.

The face says it all.
