Month 1

I wanted to post pictures of the last 10 months with Naomi (now that I can!)  I am going to try and do one post per month with my favorites.  Warning, these are gonna be long!

July 26, 2012 - We meet Naomi for the first time.
She was just over a day old, about 4 lbs. and sweet as can be.

It is hard to get perspective at how small she was but showing her in Andrew's arms helps a bit.

Day 2 - I went back and she was off oxygen...

... and she had some great awake and alert time with me.

We went back that night with the girls to introduce them to her but she had to stay in her isolet, so they just got to reach in and touch her.

She spent the next 4 weeks in the NICU growing and learning to eat.  Andrew or I were able to go down every day to visit which was a gift.

In her isolet with her feeding tube in.

She had an IV in her arm for the first several days and all of this wrapping/splint around it to make sure it did not come out.

 So tiny.

We stayed several nights during those weeks at Alli and Chris's house because they live much closer to the hospital.  One night Alli came down with me to meet Naomi.  Another night Chris went with Andrew (not pictured). It was so special to introduce her to other people!

The set up in her room.  NICUs are amazing places.

Looking cute in her hat from Emmie and Aunt Alli.

The girls have been huge fans since the beginning
(and still do not understand the concept of personal space when it come to Naomi!)

This was Emmie (Mary's) first non-doctor outing after her accident last summer.
It was a treat to introduce Naomi to her and Pops.

Sucking on her Soothie (pacifier). Unlike our other girls who were pacifier addicts well into their 2's, Naomi turned out not to be a big fan of the paci.

 Me with Naomi.

Davey checking N out and learning to be gentle.

The girls brought their beloved princess dolls down to show Naomi.

 Double hold.

Helping with her bottle.

The last week Naomi was in the NICU my sister came for a visit.  I was supposed to go to a baby shower for her during this time but had to cancel and instead she came out.  I was so blessed by her support.

And then we got to take her home....

Month 2

I wanted to post pictures of the last 10 months with Naomi (now that I can!)  I am going to try and do one post per month with my favorites.  Warning, these are gonna be long!

Naomi was discharged from the hospital on oxygen and stayed on it for another 4 weeks.  Since she was 6 weeks early and 4 weeks old when she came home, it was like having a -2 week old at first.  She slept all of the time and we had to wake her up every 4 hours around the clock to feed her.  It actually made for an easy adjustment because she was not ultra-needy at first.

I was always paranoid when her oxygen wasn't on perfectly straight because I was afraid her nostrils were getting stretched out ;).  I am thankful to report that she has a perfect little nose and appropriately sized nostrils!

 Sisters loving on her.

 Malia reading to her.

 Meeting her great-grandma Cargo.

 Chilling with Pops.

Wearing her cute headband from Aunt KK.

 Burping position.

Being weighed in a basket on our kitchen scale.

 Snoozing in the bouncy seat.

Sometimes both sides of the oxygen canula would end up in one nostril.  Can you see why I was paranoid about nostril size?

Mimi (and Papa) came for a visit.  Since she was on formula, Mimi graciously took all of the night feeds while she was in town and allowed us to catch up on some sleep.

Licking her toy.  Only funny because now she licks her sleeper to fall asleep.

Cuteness.

Right before she turned 2 months, she was able to come off of the oxygen.
Here she is asleep in Andrew's arms.

 Just bigger than the dolls.

Month 3

I wanted to post pictures of the last 10 months with Naomi (now that I can!)  I am going to try and do one post per month with my favorites.  Warning, these are gonna be long!

We discovered at this time that she liked to nap on her stomach... in the NICU she did it all of the time, so I think she got used to it.

 Out and about with me.

The girls, especially Malia, always want to hold Naomi (even now that she weighs close to 20 lbs!)
 Davey ssshhing her.

Serious Naomi.

 Mobile love.

More sister love.

 First smiles.

 Family pictures.

Month 4

I wanted to post pictures of the last 10 months with Naomi (now that I can!)  I am going to try and do one post per month with my favorites.  Warning, these are gonna be long!

 Cheeks.

Trying on and falling asleep in her peacock costume.

Not loving getting her picture with her sisters.

 Chilling with her dad.

This is what happens when you fall asleep in the middle of the family room and you have 2 older siblings.

Malia loved to hold Naomi on her tummy.  I love that she is reading while holding her.

Davey kissing Naomi.

Slight smile and not so slight cheeks.

Malia holding Naomi again (seriously she wanted to all of the time).

 Falling asleep during tummy time.

With Papa in St. Louis for Thanksgiving (first flight).

Falling asleep on Estelle's play mat.

Sweet smirk.
