A is for Apple

Our 2nd A week was Apple week.

Malia did apple graphing and apple stamping at Options.

We talked about the fruit of the spirit and colored this picture. The girls and I already had Galatians 5:16 & 22 memorized thanks to a Seeds Family Worship song called "The Fruit" (Vol. 6, Song 4). It was good to dig deeper into what that means with them though and we have been referencing it quite frequently when the girls (or I) have been rude, disobedient, impatient, etc. (I highly recommend these CDs, I have memorized so many verses thanks to them. You can actually listen to them free online here!)

 Practicing writing As.

Malia read Ten Apples Up On Top with just a few helps!

We guessed how many seeds would be inside a couple of apples, ate them and talked about the parts of an apple.

We sorted A's by uppercase and lowercase and then Davey made a circle with them :)

We had apple sandwiches - its hard to see but it is 2 slices with peanut butter inside.

These were the apple books we used. Davey loved the 3 on top (especially Johnny Appleseed).

These were some tree books we read. (They honestly were all pretty similar.)

And this was our science experiment that was a bit of a fail. We dipped some apples in orange juice and left some plain, then watched to see what happened. For some reason, the non-orange juice ones did not brown as fast as I thought they would. Oh well.
