Baby Fortress and Deals

A week or so ago, I had Drew laying on the ground. Next things I knew, the girls had built a castle around him. I thought it was pretty cute.
(I really do hate blurring out his sweet face but you get the idea.)

Two weekends ago was a big community garage sale that Kendal, Alli and I love. I found some great things, but spent the most on little Drew's wardrobe. For $17 I got...

... 4 pairs of shoes (Keens, Adidas, Pumas and brand new boots from Children's Place)

... and about 25 other pieces of clothing.

Sister Sweetness

Malia and Davey are typical sisters... best friends one minute... pushing each others buttons the next. Recently it seems like them irritating each other has been more disguised, but definitely there. Somedays I feel so exhausted with their bickering and their schemes to get each other in trouble.

But then moments like this happen...

... Davey was trying to read a book and Malia came along and was helping her. I need to keep this picture in my mind of sweetness on days that I feel like a referee between them.

Also, Davey has a sudden interest in handwriting and reading. (Like last night she sat down at the table after dinner, got out paper and pencil and decided to write her numbers to 100... it was totally her idea!) She was so resistant during this past school year and I just didn't have the energy to fight her. I am so glad I waited and didn't make  an unnecessary battle with her and am amazed at how much she has organically picked up.

Clips and Magnets

Naomi has never really let me put a clip in her hair. Last week, she asked for a clip and then another and another.

This is how excited she was about me taking her picture.

A sweeter expression.

We expanded our magnetic block collection for Easter and all three girls have really enjoyed them.

I love the creativity the magnets allow. One day Malia and Davey built this table out of them and had a tea party with their horses.

Dedication and Visit

Last week my parents came out to meet Drew and for Naomi's dedication. It was nice to have extra hands (and someone who was willing to do nighttime feeds).

I failed to take many pictures at Naomi's dedication. We were supported by our sweet family including both sets of grandparents and all the local aunts, uncles and cousins, which meant so much.

I did try to get a picture of Naomi at church and this is what I got.

At home she refused to stand up, but did give me a smile.

And here are Mimi and Papa with all four. (I hate to blur out Drew's face but I also hate to not post any pictures that include him right now...besides he was blinking in this one!)

My four kids

For Mother's Day, the main thing I wanted was a picture of all the kids together. We took some including these with Drew facing away from the camera so I could post them!

Garage Sale Picks

Our neighborhood had its community sale a couple weeks ago. We ventured out in search of some boy stuff. At one sale, I told Naomi she could pick out a shirt for Drew. She picked out two, which happened to be 2T, and then claimed them for herself.

This shark one says "Here Comes Trouble". She also picked out these Nike's at a resale shop after rejecting the pink Converse that the other girls wore at this age. What can I say, she has style!  She picked out this outfit (who needs pants) and then chose this pose when I asked to take her picture.

This is the other shirt she picked out at the garage sale. She likes to mimic the tongue hanging out.

I did manage to get Drew some clothes at that sale too. And I also hit up Goodwill on 50% off day where I got the 10 things pictured above for $10!

Lego Exhibit

A few weeks ago, the mall had a great Lego exhibit. It featured several large models of famous U.S. Landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, the White House and the Capital. We all really enjoyed exploring them and learning some interesting facts along the way.
