Butterfly Pavilion and Drawings

Last week we ventured to a local attraction called the Butterfly Pavilion. They have thousands of insects and other small animals (most of them smaller than your hand). One room is dedicated to butterflies. It is filled with tropical landscape and high humidity. Naomi was not a fan... "I am sweating, can we leave?" The rest of us enjoyed observing the butterflies up close though and we even got to see one coming out of its chrysalis!

Last time we went, Naomi was not old enough to hold Rosie, the tarantula... but this time she was. Davey let Rosie crawl on her hand as well!

When we got home that afternoon, we used our new, fine tip Sharpie marker set to decorate our own butterflies. I made the girls wear paint shirts since the markers are permanent... please excuse Naomi's plunging neckline!
